The culture surrounding entrepreneurship and startups glamorizes the long work week and the self-exhaustion that accompanies it. It’s become a competition to see who can spend the most hours in the office and away from the things that make them happy or fulfilled, an exercise counterintuitive to the productivity of the founder and, as a result, the business itself. It is time for entrepreneurs and founders to care about the wellness of their businesses, by bettering themselves.
When you take care of yourself, you take care of your business–it’s really that simple. That’s why I built this simple but effective assessment specifically for founders (although applicable for anyone!). I’d encourage you to fill out the assessment as honestly as possible; then, take stock of where you need to improve. Perhaps you’re lacking in the spirit or mind categories… If so, this will bring that to light, allowing you to better understand your self-care deficiencies and make positive changes moving forward.

For many founders or entrepreneurs immersed in the highly-competitive culture I mentioned earlier, this might seem like a waste of time. I can promise you that this is not the case.
Entrepreneurs and founders are the heart and soul of it all… when you stumble, your business stumbles; when you falter, your business falters; and when you fail to care for yourself, you fail to care for your business. That is why taking care of your personal self and business wellness is vital to your success.
